2021 Little Lotus Flower
When Phil Davis told his wife Paula that he and Lou Damiani were going to make and sell wine she said okay, but only if they always produced her favorite wine; a Sauvignon Blanc, fermented and aged in oak, both delicate and regal. Our “Little Lotus Flower” is that wine.

Tasting Notes
Our oak-aged Sauvignon Blanc is coveted, produced in very small batches, and sourced from a single vineyard site (Davis Vineyard). Demure in style, aromas lean toward linen, lotus blossom (as the name implies), clotted cream, and vanilla with an unassuming hint of fig leaf. Flavors of lemon curd, lemongrass and a soft spritz of ruby red grapefruit embrace your palate. Cream and oak hold hands for a finish that has a silky grip.
Drink Window: Now – 2026 - 2029.
Serving Temperature: 42° - 51°F
Single Vineyard Series:
Single Vintage bottlings are produced only in vintages that are exceptional. The Finger Lakes contains a mosaic of soil types, slope, aspect to the sun, and microclimate giving each vineyard its own identity. While this variety adds multiple dimensions to our wines, it also presents an opportunity for us to further celebrate the land in our Single Vineyard Series. We bottle the special flavors produced from one particular vineyard in years when the fruit is of intense quality and such distinctive character that it demands to stand alone as a pure expression of terroir.
Viticulture & Vineyard Site
Armed with years of experience dating back to his childhood, Phil Davis owns and operates Davis Vineyard. Phil shares a remarkable bond with his vineyard, leaving little space left untouched or unknown to him.
Structured and harmonious, yet strong and elegant, our Davis Vineyard is a spectacular representation of quality grape-growing in the Finger Lakes. Hand-planted in 1998 close to the eastern shore of Seneca Lake on Howard Gravelly Loam mixed with pockets of limestone, this 5 ½ acre site is perfectly suited to produce lively, old-world style wines.
Vintage Notes:
Winter of 2021 gave us some surprisingly warm days and just enough snow to be protective when the temperatures dipped low. Early spring was lovely - sunny and mostly dry with undisturbed flowering and fruit set. Beginning in June, the summer rains arrived and persisted through August. Once into September and more so in October, we were blessed with warm and dry weather, allowing us to round out our harvest season in good conditions. The abundant moisture during the summer months resulted in a smaller crop but yielded very fruit-driven and expressive reds and sparkling and bright and refreshing whites and rosés.
